Supanova Sydney 2010 took place from the 18th to the 20th June, on the 22nd i was scheduled to fly back to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to attend to some legal personal business. It was last minute planning and it had to be done. Going back to Kuala Lumpur all fatigued and all that, i met up with the Danny Choo readers in KL and bought them lunch at Pizza Hut ^^ Within those two short days i bought some upgrades to my armor and camera. Came back, ended up buying a wireless remote (cheaper than Malaysia, coz its original) .. and with the combined effort of my gorilla tripod, that drive of inspiration turned into this Nendo/Figma Tale ^^ Titled FLASH!

Here ya go, Ojousama!
Whats this?
Click! CLICK!! Click?!
Must i really type out the FLASH? -_-
Remember when taking pics of cosplayers, not too much flash! Its annoying!

If anyone wondered why these pics were like this, its because it was a different camera and it was meant to be this way. Like duh, there are cameras that took pictures in 4:3, ya know? But we all know that now, dont we? ^^ Its not like i took pics with these using my eyeballs and USB-ed these images out of my ear to the laptop. There is always a reason in everything i do and say, if i wanted help, i’d ask for it. Simple and easy like 1-2-3 => And dont even try to give me the idea to crop it to a widescreen layout, i wasnt born yesterday. I take pics as it is, then Photoshop/LightRoom them. Its what i do!

Kuala Lumpur, prob the biggest city in Malaysia. Country of humid Summer-like weather with monsoons. I visited KL during the time of the monsoon so it rained a bit. But like some foreigners there, especially when u adapted to Tasmanian cold, we just loved the warm rain. Not too hot, not too cold!

Sharing some pics of my journey back to KL while meeting up with some of the otaku comrades ^^ During my 2 day stay in KL, i wasted no time getting things running, from meetups to getting loot!

The people i met were: WiseFreeman, ZamsJournal, lerrymaru, KururugiSeiryuu, Laniemon

Landed in LCCT (one of the two airports in Malaysia) and headed straight for Port Dickson. This was my view.

One thing i didnt notice was .. red lights means its full, green means the lot is vacant! KL is seriously infested with cars, and this makes car parking way better!

The loot i found at Lowyat Plaza. Good place for electronics. Bought some stuff for my camera and armor upgrades and etc

The DC Reader/Otaku Comrades i met in Kuala Lumpur. Ended up having lunch at Pizza Hut near Lot10. The picture is blur coz i asked someone to take a pic for us, i knew i should have given him a crash course!

Finally at the Melbourne Airport on the way back.

Playing with the Fisheye lens when i got back.

Then playing with the Macro lens!

How close can i go?

Neko shots!

Angry neko shots!

Trying to get close to Kyouka's bell, and yep, thats TIMTAM =3

When u see detail .. U DO SEE DETAILS .. makes me wanna clean my room again! The dust of 10 days when i was gone since Supanova >.<

And thats about it, a quick trip back home, and back to my humble home of high tech-ness. Sometimes i wonder how can they stand doing business with fax machines and all that. I mean, its the age of PDF and email attachments and such! Well, I love Malaysia has a hometown, but it seriously needs to get into the tech savvy world >.<

The blog is undergoing some restructuring by Shazsteel, so i did not post this here till he was done, but like always, i dont like delaying and forgetting so here it goes anyways! Presenting this Nendo/Figma Tale of DC Reader, Major Gravy’s Daft Punk build up for Supanova Sydney 2010.

Whats going on?

Finally my own Wheel Walker! And its red!

Dont leave me!

Wait for me!

Dont u just love new toys?

Face plate and back head piece for the Daft Punk helmet

We tried experimental vacuum foaming for fun

Schematics to the hand plates.

See anything?

Its all black!

Hand plates first layer paint.

The Daft Punk frame!

Its been long scheduled, that in preparation of Supanova Sydney 2010 (18th-20th June), DC reader MajorGravy aka Twitter User, @DeidaraGS,  will be staying at my place for <2 weeks. Coming over to swap animes and such and also help work on his cosplay project for Supanova Sydney 2010. He may have already posted this on FigureFM, but i am reposting it my way ^^ The world is seen differently thru different eyes, and this is how i see it =)

Nani Nani?
What is this?
What’s up?
What is this?
Oh! That’s what!

We went out to all my known sources that helped me collect materials for my Stormtrooper armor today. Discovered a couple of handy shops new to me as well ^^ Crafting something is always fun, as long as you have a deadline and a mission! And most importantly, a plan! Creating cosplays can really boggle one’s mind when it comes to crafting and making it practical ^^

Goodness Gracious Me! Great Balls of Fire! I did not realize i did not blog about this on the new blog, but here we go!! (Originally from FigureFM)

The Message:
Simple really! Looking to meet other DC/FigureFM readers in Sydney! Its always nice to meet fellow comrades at conventions! This wont be the first time i will be advertising this. Once every week till i fly off from Tasmania to Sydney then i would start communicating via tweets! Going there with another DC reader and a cosplayer from Perth ^^

Goal? Meet up, go around the convention, chat, take pics .. and etc etc etc! ^^ And adding each other to blogroll/twitter/facebook and etc!

How to find me?
Look for a non yet 501st Legion registered Stormtrooper with a SOS Brigade Armband / Judgement Armband .. or both! I would be the Stormtrooper prob going nuts wanting to take pics with every cosplayer i see! I also will be hanging around with the 501st Legion booth to mingle with fellow troopers as well!

If you are cheeky enough to try it. Prepare a Carameldansen mp3 to your mobile/mp3 player to catch my attention ^^

Supanova Sydney Meetup Invitation to DC/FigureFM readers ^^

Not only do i have the out of armor attire ready, but a few extras as well!

Decided to replicate this Figma bag into something i can use ^^

And now for the end result .. cards are being picked up on Saturday morning ^^

Replication complete!

.. and thats not the only thing that has been replicated =P

See ya at Supanova Sydney 2010!

UPDATE June 3rd: I know an out of armor attire for the convention, this one makes it easier for me to take my own blog pics in ^^ Guess who the character i will be cosplaying as! If i find Lucky Star cosplayers, they are so in for a shock!

Note to Self: Its actually cheaper to make ur own anime goods rather than buying stuff that looks like crap for 50 bucks -_-

Nendo/Figma Tales: Rain

On the morning before the anime screening, it rained. Then it hit me, remembering about some posts by other comrades involving figma/nendo in the rain. So i decided to cry taking a comic scene that involved nature. Not a big fan of soil, but water will suffice! Since its not acid rain, i got nothing to complain about except for the cold fresh air ^^

Rained one morning, then Seto and Luna decided to get wet! ^^

And along came some curious ones ..

Not everyone is fond of swimming

Curiouser and curiouser!

But can mechas really swim?

Being curious can be both good and bad >.<

Swimming is fun most of the time, but there are always those that think we were not meant to swim at all -_-"

It started drizzling, then i pretty much packed like crazy and lost my groove to take pics T-T But its a good thing tho, i would have carried away and taken over 10 pics! I often get carried away which is why i cannot do 4komas =3

I know there are two sides of a war out there, the Mac users and the Computer users. Both sides having an eternal battle going at each others’ throats till the end of time. Always hearing the lines, ‘The Mac sucks’ .. ‘Computers suck at processing!’ .. ‘iPhone/iPad/iPod sucks and its overpriced!’ .. and all that. Actually i kind of disagree with the last statement, because the price is based on how established the country is. If its a country with a bad economy with low salaries and all that, yeah .. definitely its overpriced! But there are countries out there, where grocery shop staff afford BMWs at the age of 24 and all that. The world is fair, just that politics and the mentality of some people/government aint!

Back to the loot, the iPad. I am planning to do a Youtube video blog on the otaku things an anime/tech otaku can do with the iPad! Its not about how useful it is .. its all about how u use it! Just like every other tool, the biggest flaw of the tool .. *drum rolls* .. IS THE USER!! So here are a few fun pics i snapped while opening the box. Currently i am in the phase of setting up my iPad and making sure its otaku-ish enough! =) Just for record, those mooks out there crying about app issues when they switch from the iPhone to the iPad, screw u! Its all about patience when it comes to new toys =)

Introducing ..

.. a new Apple product! The iPad!

The iPad is an extension of the computer/mac. I pity the fools who buy it and cry about it not being as good as a computer/mac.

Like the iPhone, you barely need the manual! Unlike some other devices where u need to at least read the manual.

For the moment, the iPad functions as the portable mini screen interface linked to my network. Its a remote control to my wireless devices =3 More updates soon!
